Chichester Harbour is renowned for sailing and other watersports.  Many excellent golf courses are within easy reach.  Sports centres with swimming pools are to be found in Havant and Chichester.  Glorious Goodwood racecourse and the  motor racing circuit, where the popular Festival of Speed and Revival events are held, are both close by.

Among the many local cultural attractions are the cathedral city of Chichester, with its famous Festival Theatre, museums and art galleries. The Roman Palace at Fishbourne is 6 miles away and the Weald and Downland Open-air Museum is 10 miles away.  Arundel with its castle, cathedral and Wildfowl Trust and Portsmouth with its Historic Dockyard are all within easy reach.  

Emsworth, a picturesque harbourside village a mile away, has many shops, restaurants, several takeaways and numerous pubs.  The Travellers Joy pub in Southbourne is within walking distance, as are village shops and bus and rail services.
